about

On this 5 song EP, in response to my incessant bull icon use during texting, Taddy had the vision to create something truly modern. The idea was to pin drop my minotaur in the middle of the Burning Man Festival, confuse him with a smart phone and remove the word no from his vocabullary for the duration of the week long communal gathering that takes place in the mostly temporary Black Rock City. Burning Man is influenced by 10 main principles in which the minotaur must oblige the best he can. “Radical" inclusion, self-reliance and self-expression, as well as community cooperation, civic responsibility, gifting, decommodification, participation, immediacy and leaving no trace. On his own in this fantastic and foreign place, with scorching temperatures and signal loss, the minotaur starts to drift. Reality distorts. He doses in and out of various levels of heightened awareness. His draws unwanted attention with his famous headstrong architecture. He changes. His horns pixelate. He follows while being followed. He dances. He remains.

The music on this EP marks a significant first in our collaborations as Taddy composed every track and used completely digital sounds and midi sequencing to create all the music. He supplied lyrics and the artwork as well. Sticking with the theme, he guided my vocal stylings and manipulated my heavily auto tuned voice into an unrecognizable sludge. In the spirit of modern dance music, he let just enough shine through for some infectious hooks. Something almost familiar. The lyrics and vocalizations serve as a direct companion to my Mino universe. The music is a hard nod towards today’s ever-growing EDM movement. While vastly different in creation, the ritual presented here blends in seamlessly with our previous three albums. For fans who wanted us to take it further, we have.

Another album, How to Love a Minotaur, is completed and being mixed for a summer release.
